We met in the most beautiful way a love story starts...
Unintentionally.
Six years ago, fate brought us together in the most unexpected way. I was in the middle of showing a house to a potential buyer when I stumbled upon two adventurous pups—one was a black mastiff, she was quite intimidating (but very sweet) named Harley, and the other was Scruffy, who looked like the unlikely leader of the bunch. My first thought? These pups could easily scare off the buyers and derail my sale! So, as any dedicated agent would, I jumped into action to track down their owner.
After a few knocks on doors with no answer, I found an open backyard gate and figured, "This must be where they belong". With my showing quickly approaching, I coerced Harley and Scruffy into the backyard, closed the gate, and dashed back to meet the buyers. Later, I scribbled a quick note: “I'm the realtor selling the house across the street. I found your pups and put them in your backyard. PS, I hope they’re both yours.” With that, I went on my way, not thinking much of it.
The next morning, my phone rang with a call from a certain “Tom”—a handsome stranger with a warm sexy voice, calling to thank me for saving his dogs from a neighborhood adventure. What started as a simple thank-you turned into a long, effortless conversation, where we found ourselves talking about everything from church to business to life. We had an immediate connection!
Of course, being the person I am, I googled him right after. As luck would have it, Tom was considering selling his house, and soon we were setting up an date to meet and discuss listing his house. When we met in person, the connection was undeniable. shortly after he asked me out, but I quickly shot him down, saying, “I don’t date clients.” (If you know Tom, you know he’s one of the most persistent people on earth.) So of course, that didn't last long. A couple of weeks later, I gave in, broke my rule, and said yes to a first date. The rest, as they say, is history.
We’ve come so far since that day. The man I’m marrying is not the same man I met then, nor am I the same woman. We’ve grown together, through both the wonderful moments and the challenging ones. We’ve strengthened our faith, walked through heartaches, and shared countless joys, all while learning what it truly means to love and to be loved. God has blessed us with challenges that have shaped us and prepared us for this eternal union.
Six years, four cities, career shifts, losses, and countless adventures later, we’ve found our way to forever. Today, we’re not only partners in life, but partners in everything. Building our future together, spending time with family, and thanking God for the journey that’s brought us here.
For every step, every lesson, and every laugh, we are grateful. We can’t wait to begin this new chapter as one with God.
